Built a cancer centre’s entire international demand pipeline out of one Instagram account.

- Channel strategy, content, design, video direction, production, enquiry handling
Context
Art of Healing Cancer treats people who fly to Gurugram from abroad for late-stage cancer care. The person deciding is rarely the one being treated. It is a son in Manchester or a daughter in New Jersey, researching at two in the morning.
Constraint
No marketing function, no budget, no audience. And a credibility gap money would not have closed: I was asking a family to leave a healthcare system they trust for a clinic they had never heard of.
What I did
I built the Instagram account from nothing and made it the acquisition channel. For most of it I was the whole production line: writing, design, editing, shoot direction. Two editors joined later and reported to me.
Outcome
900 followers. More than 30 qualified enquiries a month, counting only genuine prospective customers rather than researchers. Thirty a month from an audience of 900 is not a social media result. It is a targeting result.

Most healthcare marketing optimises for reach and treats enquiries as a by-product of volume. That does not work here. The addressable audience is tiny, the decision is enormous, and the person deciding is frightened, grieving and working under time pressure. Reach would mostly have bought me attention from people who could never become customers.
So I built the content around the moments where a family gets stuck rather than around treatment claims. What the process actually involves. What it costs. How long someone has to stay. What happens to the family travelling with them. Those are the questions that stall a decision, and they are rarely what a clinic chooses to publish.
Running the inbox myself mattered more than it sounds. Half the enquiries came as DMs, so the first conversation happened inside the same channel as the content, in the same voice. Someone messaging me at midnight from another timezone about their mother’s diagnosis is not submitting a lead. An autoresponder would have lost most of them.
Over the same period I ran podcast and video production end to end, covering shoots, direction, editing and delivery, and moved parts of the content workflow onto generative AI tooling to raise output without adding headcount.
My access to the account analytics was removed when the engagement structure changed, so I cannot show reach or impression figures. The follower count and the enquiry volume are the numbers I can stand behind.
